Trong loạt bài trước chúng tôi đã giới thiệu đến các bạn bộ từ điển TDDT của Hồ Ngọc Đức. TDDT tuy độc lập với hệ điều hành nhưng tốc độ chậm và phải cài máy ảo Java khá nặng nề. Hôm nay chúng ta cùng xem qua một bộ từ điển nổi tiếng trong thế giới Mã Nguồn Mở, đặc biệt hơn mới đây đã xuất hiện các bộ dữ liệu cho tiếng Việt làm cho bộ từ điển này trở thành một ứng dụng tuyệt vời hơn bao giờ hết. Vâng! đó là StarDict.

StarDict không chỉ là một chương trình từ điển hoàn toàn miễn phí, nó còn có thể chạy trên nhiều hệ điều hành khác nhau (Unix, Linux, Windows). Hỗ trợ rất nhiều ngôn ngữ trên thế giới, cộng đồng người dùng mã nguồn mở trên thế giới đã cùng nhau tạo ra rất nhiều bộ từ điển với nhiều thứ tiếng khác nhau hỗ trợ StarDict. Trong đó tiếng Việt cũng được hỗ trợ rất tốt.

Ngoài các tính năng của một từ điển thông thường, StarDict tcòn có những chức năng rất hay như: chạy thường trú, tự động tra tất cả các từ ở bất cứ nơi đâu, trong một trang web, trên thanh thực đơn, trong một cái nút bấm, hay thậm chí là dưới một icon của một màn hình Desktop. Ngay khi bạn rê chuột ngang một từ, StarDict sẽ lập tức tra cứu và hiển thị kết quả tra cứu vào một cửa sỗ bật lên. Chức năng này rất hữu ích khi bạn đọc sách, lướt web hay đang nghiên cứu một phần mềm mới.

Hướng dẫn cài đặt và sử dụng

1. Download chương trình chính tại cho Windows: StarDict
2. Download thư viện GTK+ cho Windows. Thư viện này phải được cài thì StarDict mới có thể hoạt động: GTK+ 2 Runtime Environment (3.7MB)
3. Sau khi download 2 file trên bạn tiến hành cài đặt GTK+ trước, sau đó cài StarDict sau.
4. Sau khi cài đặt xong, bản cần phải download các dữ liệu từ điển cho StarDict theo các liên kết dưới đây:
   http://stardict.sourceforge.net/Dictionaries_misc.php (download chỉ các file tarball)
5. Bung các file này ra, ta sẽ có những thư mục tương ứng. Chép các thư mục này vào trong thư mục dic nằm trong thư mục bạn đã cài đặt StarDict (C:\Program Files\StarDic\dic).
6. Bây giờ bạn đã có thể khởi động StarDict bắt đầu sử dụng được rồi đó.

Với StarDict có các bộ từ điển:
- Anh/Việt, Việt/Anh
- Pháp/Việt, Việt/Pháp
- Nga/Việt, Việt/Việt
- Đức/Việt, Việt/Đức
- Nauy/Việt

Tính năng sờ và tra

Cài đặt:

• Download file chương trình cài đặt mới nhất tại đây. Mở ra để cài vào máy tính Windows.
• Sau khi chương trình cài đặt xong ta tiếp tục download các file dữ liệu. Có rất nhiều bộ từ điển Anh, Pháp, Đức, Ý, Hoa, Việt. Tất cả có thể download tại đây. Hoặc download thêm các Từ điển ngôn ngữ và Bách khoa khác tại đây.
• Sau khi download các file dữ liệu về (ở dạng .ld2) chúng ta chỉ cần nhấp đúp vào là sẽ được đưa vào từ điển thế là xong.
• Sau khi cài xong, lần đầu tiên chạn Lingoes, bạn để ý dưới System tray (góc phải) có icon hình con vẹt, sau này mỗi khi cần tra từ điển bạn chỉ cần bấm vào đây để bật chương trình lên.

Sử dụng

1. Chạy chương trình lên.
2. Gõ vào từ cần tra sau đó Enter.
3. Muốn dịch thuật văn bản thì bấm nút Translation và gõ văn bản vào để dịch.
4. Muốn nghe phát âm của từ ngữ thì bấm vào biểu tượng hình cái loa.
5. Muốn bật tắt chức năng tra từ tại vị trí con chuột thì click chuột phải lên biểu tượng của Lingoes ở góc phải dưới màn hình và bấm vào Cursor Translator.
6. Muốn thoát ứng dụng thì cũng click chuột phải lên biển tượng Lingoes và chọn exit.
